Computer Aided Design Processes

East of England 3D ModelAt East of England Planning Consultants, we understand that design is of the utmost importance when delivering your application to the Local Planning Authority for determination. Having your application decided upon under delegated officer powers is one thing but having the application determined at a development control committee is something else altogether.

To help present an application to locally elected Members of a council, East of England Planning Consultants use the latest computer generated images to convey as much of your application to committee as possible without a site visit. Being able to give Members a virtual tour of your development before the first footings have been dug is a very powerful tool and assists in bringing the proposal to life before their eyes, improving their decision making capacity.

Not only does this technology allow decision makers to be taken on a tour, it also allows our clients to be able to decide on the dimensions of rooms based on their intended use. We are able to drop furniture straight into the model so clients can see, as if they were actually stood in the room, how their choice of furniture will impact upon the internal space. We can model the distance between buildings and provide neighbours with an accurate assessment of the impact of a proposal before an official objection needs to be launched.

Not only does East of England Planning Consultants provide excellent 3D modelling but also technical drawings for all your floor plans, elevations and roof plans. Once again, our skilled designers use sophisticated software to help turn your aspirations into a reality. Bespoke, industry standard designs are drawn for your application, regardless of size and submitted to the LPA for determination.

With a comprehensive set of tools East of England has everything to meet your planning needs.

The initial stage of any planning process is to contact a planning consultant and ask for advice in moving the project forward. East of England Planning Consultants have experience in dealing with developments of diverse nature and would be very pleased to undertake a feasibility survey on your behalf.

Using a 3D modelling tool like google sketchup allows a client to make changes in design or position as it shows up some issues without the need to move from a chair.

If a client uses Google Sketchup to rough draw their ideas, it can be directly imported into East of England Planning Consultants own system, for tweaking, refining and testing.

In my case I went a little overboard and included the cows in the barn!, but then I am a 3d hobbiest… but rather than have them ask lots of questions to clarify their understanding, I was able to send my own work, which then allowed them to review it in full 360 degrees from highest point to lowest foundation, negating the need for minor queries.
